All Conditioning Was NOT Created Equal...

My new column is up at MMA Weekly.com.

This week's article is all about Conditioning, and the different kinds of conditioning - cardiovascular, cardio-respiratory, muscular, and strength/power.

Check it out:

Today's Workout - 02 March 2007

Have been mostly doing some interval running as of late, so I decided to do some lifting today instead.

-2 Kettlestack Clean & Press*: 3 sets x 6 reps
-2 Kettlestack Bent Row*: 3 x 6
(*alternated)

-2 Kettlestack Front Squat: 3 x 5
-"Natural" Glute Ham Raise**: 3 x 5

-Situps x 50

**"Natural" GHR = not on GHR bench, rather hooked feet under something and performed GHR on floor

I like this kind of workout. Hard, short. This is the kind of thing that you could alter a little, and so (almost) everyday. Kinda like Dan John's article when he quoted Dan Gable - "If it's important, do it everyday."

I might tinker with this some - add some explosive movements, and brief conditioning. Make it a 2-day split, doing it everyday, and taking a day off when you need it.

I'll keep you updated...
