When it comes to getting in the best shape of your life, sometimes all it takes is a big juicy "carrot" (a giant reward) to really get your motivational juices flowing again.
Here's a perfect example...
Tom Venuto and the guys over at the "Burn The Fat" websites have launched what they are calling "the world's first body composition transformation contest."
They're giving away a CRAZY reward to the winners...
They're sending the winners to one of the world's most luxurious resorts in Maui - The 5-Star Four Seasons on Wailea beach.
I saw the photos of this place, and I have to admit, even I am tempted to enter this contest!
See the contest info here:
===> CLICK TO SEE PICS
I mean c'mon...who doesn't wanna go to Hawaii?
Really. Get in shape. Go to maui.
Of course, there may be a few thousand other people who want that vacation too, but that's the fun of it - this is a body transformation competition.
This one is very different from most fitness contests these days. It's definitely NOT like the "biggest loser" because it's NOT a wt. loss contest.
In "wt loss" contests, people are rewarded even if they avoid weight training, lose muscle, drop buckets of water weight or even cheat by taking laxatives or diuretics... It's all about the almighty scale.
As tom wrote on one of his recent blog posts, "Hmpf! Big deal! I know wrestlers who can sweat out 20 pounds overnight!"
When you accept this challenge and enter the Burn the Fat contest, you will not only take before and after pictures, you will also measure your body fat percentage so you can be judged visually and numerically on your improvement in body composition.
Great idea!
You can see more about the contest judging criteria and rules here:
===> RULES, REGS, & ALL THAT MUMBO JUMBO
But in a nutshell, here's how it works:
When you purchase the Burn the Fat, feed the Muscle ebook, known by many as "the fat loss bible" - you get automatic entry in the contest. not just this contest, but every burn the fat challenge in the future... forever.
You can also get entered in the contest by getting a membership to the Burn the Fat Inner Circle - the private members-only motivation and support community where the contest is being held.
That's good for people who want extra support and accountability.
This contest is held only twice a year and the current Burn the Fat challenge - the summer "BIG BURN" challenge as they're calling it, is open for registration until Sunday, May 30th.
After that, the gates close until the next summer contest a year from now.
All of the contest details, including information about the grand prize trip for two to Maui (you gotta see this place), have been posted here:
===> GET IN ON THE CONTEST HERE
Now is a trip like this a gimmick to sell stuff? Well...uhhh...yeah. Duh.
But look at it this way - you enter the contest, and have a chance at winning a badass trip. (And who couldn't use a free vacation...esp a badass one like this?)
Even if you don't win...well...you're still in the best shape you've likely been in, in...well...who knows how long.
Sounds win-win to me.

Working Class Cardio or P90X?
You know, a lot of people are always asking me about P90X - whether it's a good workout, worth the money, and how it compares to "Working Class Cardio Workout".
I've seen P90X, and for a tv-based infomercial fitness product, it's pretty good. Surely better than the ab gadgets and fad diets out there.
But honestly (and call me biased), the "Working Class Cardio Workout" is just a lot better:
1 - Genuine progression in the workouts themselves, not just adding more workouts to your schedule over time
2 - Specific sets & reps to perform, not just time blocks to crank out reps - that way you know to use more weight, and build more strength & power
3 - More intense, compound, & explosive exercises used - which means more muscle built and calories burned (both during and after the workout)
4 - Constantly changing workouts - not just repeating the same 12 workouts in a different order for 3 months
5 - How about the simple fact that P90X costs THREE TIMES as much?
So is P90X good? Sure.
But is the "Working Class Cardio Workout" better? Yup.
And I'm not the only one who thinks so. Recently had a happy customer - Alan - email me to tell me that his wife had gotten him P90X as a gift not long after he bought the "Working Class Cardio Workout".
After seeing what P90X had to offer in comparison, he sent it back and got a refund.
And he's still doing the "Working Class Cardio Workout".
What are you waiting for?

The "Holy Grail"??
A couple months ago, my buddy Tom Venuto (nutritionist, natural bodybuilder, author, and about a hundred other important titles) came out w/his new book - the "Holy
Grail Body Transformation Program".
Yeah, I know, I know. "Holy Grail"? Jeez. I was rolling my eyes, too. That is, until Tom sent me my copy.
Ho-ly Cow.
Now, I love reading about training. I can read about anything in the training world, and still enjoy it...even if I already know a lot what I'm reading. I just enjoy the stuff. It's "my thing".
Reading about diet and nutrition, on the other hand....not so much. Just doesn't "float my boat".
Tom's "Holy Grail" is the exception to the rule, though.
See, first of all, Tom has a cool writing style. Reminds me a lot of my own, really. He's got this knack for taking complicated and complex stuff and putting it into simple words - making it easy to understand.
I can't stand it when people who deal w/complex stuff, try to convey their info to people who don't deal w/it, but act like they are. Yeah, you use big words that I don't know. I get it. Now get over yourself and put it into a format I understand, or else all your big words and knowledge are pretty well useless to anybody but you.
Well, Tom is cool - b/c he makes it all super-easy to understand.
Then there is the fact that Tom doesn't mind telling it like it is...even if it won't be popular among the "critics". (HINT: know how pre- and during workout nutrition is all the 'rage' right now? Wait 'till you see what Tom has to say on it.)
Listen, bottom line is that the "Holy Grail" book is friggin' awesome, and you owe it to yourself to get a copy.
And here is where it gets cool as hell.
Tom is GIVING AWAY the "Holy Grail" book for F-R-E-E if you pick up his "Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle" (a #1 best-seller in its own right) at regular price.
Yeah...F-R-E-E. As in gratis. Nothin. Nada.
Not long after this promotion ends, the ONLY WAY you'll be able to get this awesome book will be to buy it from Tom...to the tune of roughly 50 bucks.
So don't be stupid - get your copy for NOTHIN' now by just picking up "Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle".
Hell, the fact that you're getting "2-for-1" alone makes it worth it.

Atkins, South Beach, or....?
It should be pretty much common sense how important proper nutrition is. I don't care if you're an athlete or just a "regular joe", you've gotta get your diet right.
Doesn't matter how awesome your workout is, if your diet is all jacked up, then you ain't gettin' anywhere. Can't outwork an ultra stinko diet.
But just like working out, there are about a zillion ways to design a nutrition program.
I mean, take a look at all the different types of workouts out there, and how they all promise amazing results. You know that some of them just outright suck. But unless you wanna spend a bunch of years trying them all out for yourself, you go to somebody that you trust and know knows what they're doing to wade through all the crap for you.
Getting advice like this can literally shoot you to the "front of the line" (so-to-speak) as it pertains to getting results. No wasted time or effort. Just hit the gym w/a program you know works.
Well, wouldn't it be just as helpful - and time-saving - if you could hit the grocery store the same way? Know exactly what kind of nutrition program you should go on
for maximum results?
And what about all the different diets out there? Which ones are really any good...and why?
I wish I could tell you, but truth is, I'm no diet expert. But, good thing for me *and* you that my buddy Tom Venuto is.
See, Tom is the author of "Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle", which is (according to clickbank.com) the #1 best-selling diet ebook on the internet...
...ever.
Tom is a fat-loss coach, "natural" bodybuilder, nutritionist, has been on ESPN radio, has published some 400+ articles, and a whole slew of other stuff. In other words, when it comes to diet and nutrition, Tom is "the man".
I've got his "Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle" book, and lemme tell you - it's pure gold. The one section where he takes every popular diet and nutrition trend (from
Atkins to South Beach to high-carbs and everything else in-between) alone is worth the price of the book.
I'm telling you, you'd be nuts to not get this thing.

Down 30+ lbs and 6-8" Waist Size
Turns out some of the info I gave y'all the other day was bogus.
The response I've gotten from the article I wrote about my boy Aaron and the kickass results he's gotten from the "Working Class Cardio Workout" has been outta this world.
But shortly after I sent out the newsletter about the article, Aaron himself emailed me to tell me I was wrong.
See, in the article, I said he'd gone from 190-195 lbs. down to 165.
Nope.
Turns out now he's not 165, but actually down to and even lower freakin' 159. Wow.
(And as an aside, he also let me know that his waist/pants size has gone from a 38 to a 30/32, depending on the pair of pants.)
And the numbers his putting up in the gym are outta sight, too. Like he told me the other day - 175 medicine ball burpees in just over 19 minutes.
Pretty kickass.
In case you missed the article, you should give it a look - and check out the pics of Aaron's progress:
=>CLICK HERE TO READ AARON'S STORY AND SEE HIS PICS
It'll sure as hell be motivating. If it's not, you'd better check to see if you have a pulse...

"Holy Grail" ebook...cheez-ball or truth?
A couple days ago, I mentioned my buddy Tom Venuto's "Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle" ebook package.
In case you missed it, Tom Venuto is a fat loss coach, steroid-free bodybuilder, nutritionist, and a whole bunch of other stuff. In the end, all you really need
to know is that when it comes to diet and nutrition, Tom knows his stuff...big time.
He's had some 400+ articles published, has written for all the top magazines, been on ESPN radio, and a whole slew of other accolades. In fact, there are probably 10 or 12 guys out there who've had absolutely no success in their lives whatsoever, b/c Tom has hoarded it all. LOL.
I'm gonna get down to business here - his "Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle" is one awesome book. So awesome, that clickbank.com (the world's top electronic product
published/distributor) has ranked BFFM the #1 selling diet ebook on the entire internet.
Pretty awesome stuff.
Well, Tom has just come out with a new book, and he shot me a copy to take a look at.
Whoa.
I thought BFFM was pretty good, but this one takes it to a whole new level. This book talks about how you can lose fat and gain muscle at the same time...and yeah, it's possible.
Tom calls the book the "Holy Grail Body Transformation Program".
Yeah, I know - the title is kinda cheez-ball, but the info in it is pure gold. Tom goes through how to cycle your diet through days of low calories and days of higher calories, all depending on your goal. (Whether you wanna mainly just lose fat, you wanna gain lean muscle, etc.)
He also goes through how and when to eat your daily meals, and when it's best to eat protein and carbs during the day, depending on when you work out.
I will say that he's probably gonna piss a few people off w/his discussion on pre and during workout meals, shakes, and the like. And I'm always up for pissing off the establishment. ;-)
The thing I like about Tom's writing is that, while not quite as "laid back" as mine is, it's all REALLY easy to read. I've read some nutrition books that are WAY out there and make things way too overly complicated to read.
Reading Tom's stuff, you really get the idea that he's taking complicated stuff, and putting it into simple language that you and I can understand.
Bottom line is this - the "Holy Grail" book is kickass, and I completely recommend it.
And you can get it for NOTHIN'.
Tom is gonna be releasing the "Holy Grail" ebook as a complete stand-alone product here soon, but for a REALLY limited time, you can get a copy for FR-EE if you order "Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle".
But, the offer expires soon. Like by tomorrow soon. Yeah, I know, short notice. Sorry.
When I got my copy of the book, I didn't think it was gonna be this good. I honestly just finished going through it myself...

Just Eat It
I musta struck a chord w/my whole doing "cardio" w/o doing "cardio" post yesterday, as I got a fair amount of emails on it.
(BTW - wanna have all the benefits of cardio w/o having to do "cardio"? Then CLICK HERE.)
But that led to a bunch of other questions...
...namely about fat loss.
And of course, that led to questions on diet.
I've told you before, I'm not afraid to admit when I'm no guru on something. I know training like a mofo, but when it comes to diet, though I know enough, I'm sure as heck no "expert".
That's why when people have questions re diet, I point them to Tom Venuto, and his "Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle" book.
Haven't heard of it? Then you're living under a rock, b/c it's the #1 best-selling diet ebook on the internet...EVER.
Yeah - Tom knows a thing or two.
So pick up your own copy and get to readin'.
=>"Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle"
Keep your eyes glued to tomorrow's post, as I'm gonna give you an update on one of my "all-stars"...a dude I've told you about before, keeps doing my workouts, and is turning into an absolute freakin' animal.
So much so, in fact, that he's got the gym staff (who used to give him crap about his workouts) shaking his hand afterward now, b/c he's the resident badass in the gym.
More tomorrow.
